  • Delete your data: A request to erase or delete personal information. Also known as a "Right to Deletion," "Right to Erasure," or "Right to be Forgotten" request. Some legal exceptions may apply that allow you to retain certain data.
  • Receive a copy: A request for data portability. Also known as a "Right to Data Portability" request.
  • Stop processing: A request to restrict or limit how their personal data is processed. Also known as a "Right to Restrict Processing" request.
  • Limit the usage: A request to object to specific types of data processing. Also known as a "Right to Object" request.
  • Do not sell: A request to opt out of the sale of personal information. Also known as a "Right to Opt-Out of Sale" request.
  • Do not sell or share: A request to opt out of both the sale and sharing of personal information. This expanded right is provided under the CPRA (California Privacy Rights Act) and other recent US state privacy laws.
  • Do not share: A request to opt out of sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. This right is established under privacy laws like the CPRA and other US state regulations that distinguish "sharing" from "selling."
  • Opt out of targeted advertisement: A request to stop using personal information for targeted or personalized advertising. The data subject wants to prevent their data from being used to deliver ads based on their behavior, preferences, or profile across different websites and services. Also known as a "Right to Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising" request, established under laws like the CPRA, Virginia CDPA, and other state privacy regulations.
  • Limit the use and sharing of your sensitive personal information: A request to restrict how sensitive personal data is used and disclosed. This right is provided under the CPRA and similar laws that provide enhanced protections for sensitive personal information.
  • Lodge a grievance: A request to file a complaint or raise a concern about how their personal data is being handled. Also known as a "Right to Complain" or "Right to Lodge a Complaint." Organizations should have processes to receive, investigate, and respond to such grievances, and inform requesters of their right to escalate complaints to regulatory authorities.
