Install the Widget
You can add the installation code on any website by copying the respective embed codes into your website header and footer. These custom embed codes are unique for your website domain and are valid for both your main domain and any related subdomains added to your account.
The installation can consist of the following components:
- The widget: Installed in the website’s header as the very first script.
- The custom links: Installed in the website’s footer and displayed inside the website’s footer - or wherever you choose on the website.
Typically, the most representative custom links that are meaningful to your website’s users are:
- Privacy Center: Where users can configure their privacy settings
- Do not sell or share my personal information: Where users indicate whether or not they want their personal data to be exposed to third parties.
- Embedded content code: Enables users to configure which of their personal data/usage information gets exposed wherever your website features embedded content (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) that may collect user data.
There are three types of scripts and links available for you to utilize on your website. Your widget embed code is a unique script that is placed in your website's header as the first script. You can generate custom links used for opening the Widget or the Governance Portal. When you have embedded content on your website, you can generate an embedded content code as a privacy-adherent way to display this content to users.

To install the widget on your website:
- Log in to the Control Center and copy your custom script from the Platform tools section.
- Log in to your website’s control panel and paste the script in the header. See the detailed installation information for each platform, beginning with the installation on a generic HTML website, starting here.
To add the custom links to your website:
- Log in to the Control Center, generate the desired links and copy them one by one.
- Log in to your website.
- If needed, add/install an HTML add-on that enables you to configure the website’s footer.
- Paste the links copied from Control Center one by one into the HTML add-on, wherever you want them displayed (typically, in the footer). See the detailed procedure here.
To add embedded content code to your website:
- Log in to the Control Center, go to
Integrate>Platform tools and select Embedded Content. - Select the third party providing the content and paste the embedded code provided by the third party into the field.
- Select Generate.
- Next, under Copy the code below field, select Copy to clipboard.
Note: We recommend that you test your integration thoroughly to make sure the widget and the links are displayed properly.
